We are very lucky to have our very own bushcraft expert at Kitewood in Ben. Ben loves nothing more than being in the wild, lighting fires, building shelters and sleeping under the stars. He also loves passing on this knowledge to others. Once a week during the summer he offers an introduction to bushcraft course at Kitewood Camping. Participants will learn the basics of outdoor survival. How do you build a shelter to keep out of the weather? How do you light a fire without a match? Ben will also teach you how to safely use a knife to make kindling and to make simple setups for cooking.
The course will give you a great introduction to bushcraft and is aimed at families and children. The course costs £20 per person. There is also the possibility of arranging a more specialist bushcraft session. Perhaps you would like to learn more about natural tinder, fire with friction or more advanced knife skills. If so please get in touch and we can arrange something for you or your family. In the meantime I better go and try and find Ben, I’ll just head towards that trail of campfire smoke.
